INTERNATIONAL MODELS FOR TEACHER PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT AND PROPOSALS FOR AZERBAIJAN




Education is a system that not only affects the level of development of society, but also formed under the influence of the level of development of society. The leading role of the teachers in this direction has made them an essential force in education. Therefore, teacher
performance is one of the main factors that directly affect the quality of education. Research shows that in many countries, performance appraisals are aimed at identifying and eliminating weaknesses and professional development of teachers without damaging their reputation. The aim of the study is to investigate international experience on teacher performance evaluation and to develop proposals for the creation of the Azerbaijani model by coordinating the results with the local educational environment. The theoretical and methodological
basis of the research issues consists of scientific works of different researchers, current official documents, information in the press. Research methods such as analysis and synthesis, systematic and structural approach were used in the study of the problem. The practical significance of the research is that the models and proposals involved in this study can be used in the creation of the Azerbaijani model in this area, as well as in the writing of future monographs and articles.
