SOME RECORDS ABOUT GIVING INDUSTRY MEDALS TO WEAVING TEACHERS INCLUDED IN THE DOCUMENT CALLED “İRADELER TALTİFAT TASNİFİ”




Traditional Turkish Arts, originating from the geography of Turkestan, involve an important role in Turkish culture. In particular, textile arts are one of the fields in which Turkish art with thousands of years of understanding is expressed. The adventure of textile starting from the Pazirik carpet with its oldest known fact has lasted over centuries until Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Middle East, Anatolia and the Balkans. During the Ottoman Empire period, textile arts had a privileged position in Anatolia both as a palace art and within the Ahi-order system. The archive documents prove facts that the Ottoman Empire enacted laws on behalf of the weaving sector and orders signed by the sultan were issued. In the article, documents related to the medals presented by the state to the teachers and masters who executed carpet training in schools and Fabrikay-i Humayun during the Ottoman period are mentioned.
