This paper aims to discuss the analysis of 7 sets of teaching and learning materials ranging from grades 1 to 5 from a gender-sensitive perspective utilized in the public schools of Azerbaijan. The results of the aforementioned analysis revealed that said materials were not balanced in terms of gender equality, intersectionality and inclusivity and contained representations of gender bias both in visual and verbal manner. The paper makes several recommendations to help restore a balanced and equitable approach to gender in all school materials, including the ones analyzed.
