WAYS OF DEVELOPING PROFESSIONAL PEDAGOGICAL SELF-AWARENESS

Professional self-awareness is a complex phenomenon that plays the role of a link between personality and activity, enabling optimal results in both personal development and professional activity. The main condition for a teacher’s professional and personal growth is self-awareness. Professional pedagogical self-awareness manifests itself in the teacher’s personal qualities and their independent, creative activities. This issue has been investigated by both foreign and local psychologists and educators. Despite numerous scientific studies devoted to the problem of pedagogical self-awareness, the issue of developing professional pedagogical self-awareness in the educational environment remains relevant today. The article provides information about professional pedagogical self-awareness. As a result of the analysis of scientific literature, the regulatory-pragmatic; egocentric; stereotype-dependent, subject – receptive, and subject-universal levels of pedagogical self-awareness are considered. Specific examples are provided for each level. Destructive and constructive ways of developing pedagogical self-awareness are presented. It is shown that the most effective way is the constructive one, because at this time the teacher develops themselves and achieves success in their work.
