The ANALYSIS Of TIMSS 2019 RESULTS OF AZERBAIJAN IN TERMS OF COGNITIVE DOMAINS

The assessment of student knowledge and skills is a basis for increasing success in education. In this way, all countries can evaluate their educational system comparatively. As a result of these comparisons, some new approaches in education have been emerging. Azerbaijan also participates in important international student assessment programs. One of these programs is TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study). It is an international study which assesses the quality of primary and secondary education in mathematics and natural sciences. Compared to the results of our first participation, there was a significant increase in the performance of 4th grade students representing us in TIMSS 2019. The article analyzes the results of students in mathematics and natural sciences in different directions in terms of cognitive areas.
