Taking innovative steps to improve management in general education institutions is an important issue. Identifying innovative steps in the school environment is one of the key factors in achieving the planned result. One of the main objectives of the research conducted within the framework of the “Capstone” project implemented by ADA University is to identify management problems in general education institutions and to solve these problems through innovative steps. That project-based research was conducted on "Innovative steps to improve school management". The focus group discussion technique of the qualitative research method was used to conduct the study, and the focus group discussions were conducted online. The number of discussion participants consisted of 18 people. The Ganja-Dashkasan Regional Education Department and the schools under its authority were selected as the locations for organizing the research. In the study, the problems in school management were voiced by the participants of the focus group discussion, and proposals were made based on the experiences of the participants to solve these problems and added to the “Capstone” project. As a result of the analysis of the collected data, the researchers’ suggestions were also added to the “Capstone” project. Based on the information obtained from the “Capstone” project, a brochure was prepared as the final product. The brochure includes general information about the project, details about the researchers, their means of communication, and the proposals of the focus group discussion participants and the researchers. Finally, the brochure containing the results of the project was presented to the relevant Regional Education Department, local education sectors, the heads of general education institutions, and teachers.
