This article investigates the practices of English teachers in general education schools in Azerbaijan regarding the use of authentic materials. Quantitative research methods were used in the study, and the data were collected through a survey questionnaire. It should be noted that the survey was answered not only by English teachers working in the capital, Baku, but also in regions such as Ismayıllı, Shamakhi, Zagatala, and Agsu. In total, 111 English teachers participated in the survey. The data was analyzed using Google Forms. The results of the research indicate that most English teachers have a positive attitude toward the use of authentic materials in language teaching and believe that these materials have an effective impact on students’ language skills, motivation, and attitude toward the lesson. Although some teachers consider these materials effective, they mention having difficulty finding materials that meet the needs and interests of the students. As a result of the research, it is concluded that the use of authentic materials in English language teaching in Azerbaijan has a significant impact on quality.
