The article explains the implementation mechanism of virtual practical work (laboratory work) as one of the methods of inter-activation of the physics learning process in the VIII classes of the general secondary education level. For this purpose, it was recommended to successfully use “Physics multimedia” electronic educational resources. The virtual training models given in those resources were developed using the Java language in the JUniverse environment, and 3D Studio Max and Macromedia Flash animation programs were
applied. High-level interactivity of the models and quasi-realistic user actions with the objects of the training scene are provided. Special
modules including interactive didactic materials (theoretical information, instructions, test tasks for testing knowledge and skills) have been developed for students’ independent work in the virtual environment. The created virtual practical works are a useful addition to traditional laboratory lessons in school subjects. Virtual practical works provide maximum clarity, accurate modeling of real equipment for physical experiments. As an example, how to model the virtual practical work lesson “Determining the specific heat capacity of a solid” in class VIII.
